How to become a Christian?

I am a preteen and was born into a Christian family. I truelly want to be a born again Christian, but donno how, because when I pray, i don't feel that I trully trust and have faith in Jesus. Does that (faith & trust) develop in time or must it be there when you want to be born again? How should I say the prayer?
