Should my boyfriend have to pay for gas money for me to visit him?

So my boyfriend lives about 20 minutes away from me. We're both in high school, and I've had my license since October but he doesn't have his yet. We've been dating for over a year and a half, so since October I've been driving my car (which only gets 15 mpg) to his house 1-3 times a week. I don't and have never had a job because of my rigorous course schedule and after school activities. However, he has never given me any gas money. I've spent all the money I had on paying for gas to go see him. He rarely comes to my house because he likes going to his house better. I've asked him a few times to give me a hand in being able to pay for this because my parents have been getting annoyed since gas prices have gotten super high. But he won't help. What should Ido? Do you think he should help pay so that we can see each other? I think it's only fair for both of us to contribute so that we can see one another.
