What Can I Do With My Horrible Hair?

I have straight black hair and it comes to my shoulder. I dont have bangs or anything its just plain black medium long hair and i dont know what to do with it. How should i style it? Oh and i have a ton of hair so its very thick and it doesnt look silky or anything. I shower and use conditioner. will my hair always be like this? Any cute hair styles i could try please add a link. Im going into sixth grade and want a cute new look so yea please help. And try to answer ALL my question
