Hot oil treatment questions?

My hair is very dry. I usually just wash and condition, put hair grease on it. Every once in a while, I put a relaxer kit in it. I would like my hair to be very bouncy, smooth and silky, and look nice. If I take care of my hair properly, it looks good. Would a hot oil treatment help my hair and how long would it take to start looking smooth and silky?
