Cheer bows? Is it okay to use elmers glue to add glitter on it?

I heard glitter can really hurt your eyes, and I'm in charge of making 25..and the bows are just normal fabric ribbon, kind of silky! Please help, they are really boring right now and they are due tomorrow!
