A New puppy what should ido?

i got a new puppy yesterday and im 24 years old still living at home, i dunno anything about puppies i had just broken up with my girlfriend, i figured hey a puppy would be greatt take my mind off her, but this short period of time ive had em ive realized im not mature enough to look after a puppy ive stressed almost all day yesterday sense i got him i dont wanna give em away hes a beagle ive wanted one for awhile just im not ready to look after one i dunno anything about dogs or puppies should i give him up for adoption?
